Hong Kong Fashion Week is QR Code Enabled
Jun 21
When thousands of buyers from around the world visit Hong Kong Fashion Week, July 3 – 6, 2012, at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre, they will be able to use QR codes to enhance their on-site experience.
HKTDC, the show organizer, has launched an all-new “exhibitor scanner feature” as part of their mobile app that will enable attendees to get info from exhibitors by scanning bar codes in the exhibitors’ booths.
Here are some points to note about HKTDC’s mobile/QR code program:
- The QR code scanner is built into HKTDC’s mobile app, and there is a QR code tab as part of the nav bar so very easy to find and access. These tactics certainly help drive adoption.
- The app is available on both iOS and Android platforms
- In addition to providing attendees with a quick and easy way to get info from exhibitors, this new feature provides attendees with a summary email at the end of each day with a personalized list of all exhibitors scanned. A nice added-value convenience for attendees.
- For those of you who regularly read my posts, you know the emphasis I place on promotion for new mobile initiatives, and this program has certainly been well promoted. In addition to links on the vertical nav bar on the attendee set of pages on the website, there is a dedicated page for QR codes, with a nice chart labeled “3 Easy Steps to Scan Exhibitors,” and also another graphic right next it to showing the benefits. There is also a video specifically for the QR code program.
- HKTDC is offering free Wi-Fi service in its Buyer Center.
